Valve types

  • Suction and discharge valves for single- and multi-stage reciprocating compressors
  • Plate valves and ring valves with metallic or non-metallic sealing elements made of high-temperature polymers (PEEK)
  • Concentric valves (suction and discharge in one valve)
  • Check valve inserts and internals – built like compressor working valves and therefore ideal for pulsating flow
  • Valve assemblies made to measure, ready to install

Calculated, not estimated

Every valve is designed for the specific compressor. Our own software simulates the operation of the valves inside the cylinder:

  • gas-dynamic characteristics depending on flow area and plate lift
  • pressure and power losses depending on gas type, compression ratio and piston speed
  • plate motion based on real spring stiffness, mass of the moving parts and crankshaft speed

The result: a valve that opens and closes cleanly, uses less energy and lasts longer. For existing compressors we recalculate the valves and optimise them for changed operating conditions.

Check valve inserts

We supply check valve inserts in compressor-valve design for reciprocating compressors and circulation and vacuum pumps – as an insert for existing housings or as a set of internals. Materials: standard and special steels and PEEK. Dimensions in mm or inch.

Frequently asked questions

How does an automatic compressor valve work?

The valve opens as soon as the gas force exceeds the spring force and the inertia of the plate, and closes when the pressure difference drops again. It is actuated by the gas flow alone.

Can you improve an existing valve?

Yes. We recalculate the valve for your actual operating point and adapt lift, springs and plate material – e.g. after a change of gas, pressure or speed.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Ideally the compressor type and nameplate, gas, suction and discharge pressure, temperatures, speed and a drawing or photos of the existing valve.
